Carlos Terciero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Jenaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Ildefonso Larpe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luis Gartzi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Tonio in the 16th minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Luis Gartzi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Terciero took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miguel Jenaro. Miguel Jenaro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 23rd match minute, Football Club BARCELONA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cirilo Laffitte to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th match minute, Manchester City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Janis Lehepuu to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Nereo Hug fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Nereo Hug recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Miguel Jenaro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nereo Hug in the 41st minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pablo Goito was the one to do the kick off. Football Club BARCELONA's Miguel Jenaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Hug in the 52nd minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Cirilo Laffitte came free, but Luis Gartzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Football Club BARCELONA getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Timoteo Ramos hit a great ball. Nereo Hug fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Jenaro having to interfere. After having played for 72 minutes, Carlos Terciero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Terciero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Nereo Hug managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester City's supporters rose to their feet, but Nereo Hug was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Jenaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luis Gartzi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baldomero Manni in the 76th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Carlos Terciero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Miguel Jenaro. Football Club BARCELONA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Terciero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Nereo Hug sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goalkeeper Luis Gartzi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baldomero Manni. Nereo Hug fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Jenaro having to interfere.
