The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Salmakis Tselikas during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Barcelona booed when Millonarios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salmakis Tselikas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the game, Alejandro Abeijon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Carmelo Lixandro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carmelo Lixandro was a little too slow when Alejandro Abeijon got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 2-0. Carmelo Lixandro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alejandro Abeijon went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 22nd minute, Candido Ordono hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Barcelona's Carmelo Lixandro got control of the ball when Alejandro Abeijon tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Alejandro Abeijon sped through Barcelona's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carmelo Lixandro. Carmelo Lixandro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alejandro Abeijon, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. If Aquilino Indartsu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Millonarios's Alejandro Abeijon got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Iker Urbasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Amancio Azibar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 55thth minute of the game Alejandro Abeijon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barcelona's Carmelo Lixandro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Millonarios's goalkeeper Amancio Azibar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iker Urbasa. In the 64th match minute, Millonarios was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquilino Indartsu to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the game, Alejandro Abeijon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Carmelo Lixandro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carmelo Lixandro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alejandro Abeijon in the 71st minute of the match. In the 79thth minute of the game Alejandro Abeijon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barcelona's Carmelo Lixandro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alejandro Abeijon in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carmelo Lixandro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 88 minutes into the match, Alejandro Abeijon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carmelo Lixandro. Barcelona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alejandro Abeijon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. The audience was convinced that Alejandro Abeijon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carmelo Lixandro was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. In the 92nd minute Jean-Pierre Melvin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Lixandro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute Millonarios were awarded a corner. Celso Lixandro went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Millonarios's corner Celso Lixandro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Carmelo Lixandro quite easily take care of the ball. Carmelo Lixandro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejandro Abeijon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Millonarios players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
