Albano Guifre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Neuquén's Lorenzo Acosta got control of the ball when Carmelo Oalo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atletico River Plate's goalkeeper Rafael Berriotxoa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lorenzo Acosta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Melchor Quin in the 11th minute. Rafael Berriotxoa came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Neuquén's Bonifacio Domenec. But to his dismay, Bonifacio Domenec quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Juss Randveer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atletico River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Juss Randveer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lorenzo Acosta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lorenzo Acosta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albano Guifre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albano Guifre scored 1-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lorenzo Acosta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Albano Guifre struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Lorenzo Acosta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atletico River Plate. Neuquén's Pastor Musko got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Juss Randveer came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Club Atletico River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juss Randveer couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juss Randveer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lorenzo Acosta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmelo Oalo in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute Juss Randveer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Acosta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Neuquén's Lorenzo Acosta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albano Guifre in the 56th minute of play. A collision led to Neuquén getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Artemio Emenon hit a great ball. After 67 minutes Neuquén's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Juss Randveer who took care of the corner kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Carmelo Oalo got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 2-1. 67 minutes into the match. If Albano Guifre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
