The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Oswaldo Mandrak took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Modesto Intxixu. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Augusto Lastur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mathew FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Lastur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Modesto Intxixu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 17thth minute of the game Urbano Pagomari who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BANFIELD DEL SUR's Modesto Intxixu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Modesto Intxixu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urbano Pagomari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute of the match Mathew FC got a corner. BANFIELD DEL SUR's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Urbano Pagomari ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marian Petka was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Urbano Pagomari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urbano Pagomari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Intxixu having to interfere. Urbano Pagomari struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Modesto Intxixu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mathew FC. Ruben Ireno hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Urbano Pagomari made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natalio Ostots during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to BANFIELD DEL SUR getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Natalio Ostots hit a great ball. In the 61st match minute, Mathew FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zézinho Brodel to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, BANFIELD DEL SUR's Evaristo Lluques got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Mathew FC's Urbano Pagomari was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 65th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Urbano Pagomari who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Modesto Intxixu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Evaristo Lluques hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Urbano Pagomari sped through BANFIELD DEL SUR's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Modesto Intxixu. After a defensive mix-up in BANFIELD DEL SUR's zone, Urbano Pagomari stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Modesto Intxixu came out of the goal and Urbano Pagomari tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 84 played minutes BANFIELD DEL SUR got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Lluques. 86 minutes into the game, one of BANFIELD DEL SUR:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Modesto Intxixu went to the wrong direction when Urbano Pagomari was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Modesto Intxixu made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Augusto Lastur sent off a good shot on target. 89 minutes into the match, Augusto Lastur dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Modesto Intxixu, 0-4. BANFIELD DEL SUR's Modesto Intxixu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urbano Pagomari in the 95th minute of play. With his leg Modesto Intxixu managed to avoid a goal in the 97thth minute, when Mathew FC's Urbano Pagomari fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. During the 97th minute of the match Natalio Ostots completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Natalio Ostots a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. When the match was over Mathew FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than BANFIELD DEL SUR throughout the match.
