After 19 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Eleazar Alire. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eleazar Alire in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrian Gudesteo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niceto Ireno in the 29th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Jaime Lluques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Modesto Argenis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Benigno Tino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Modesto Argenis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Lluques having to interfere. After 47 played minutes, River Plate's Ivan Edwardo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adrian Gudesteo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in River Plate reached it. After the first half River Plate were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niceto Ireno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute of the match Toimi Piispa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adrian Gudesteo skillfully saved the ball. 59 minutes into the game, Eleazar Alire lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Adrian Gudesteo. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Niceto Ireno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Lluques came out of the goal and Niceto Ireno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 65 minutes of play, River Plate's Leo Azubeli made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adrian Gudesteo was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Eleazar Alire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 71 minutes, Aaron Ralondo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aaron Ralondo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute Modesto Argenis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Lluques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eleazar Alire who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Adrian Gudesteo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 79th minute of the match Ivan Edwardo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adrian Gudesteo skillfully saved the ball. A hard shot by Toimi Piispa from long distance, 82 minutes into the match, got Adrian Gudesteo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Cristian Balasi charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristian Balasi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With his leg Adrian Gudesteo managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when River Plate's Eleazar Alire fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 94 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sopanta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dave Ierlandt was slow to take the kick. During this time River Plate's players had a chance to rest. Dave Ierlandt made a great header on River Plate's corner, it was just that Sopanta's Adrian Gudesteo managed to reach the ball for a save. When the final whistle sounded River Plate left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sopanta.
