With an all-out effort, FC Saavedra's Angel Otoniel threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hector Celino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Esteve Figueroa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Angel Otoniel made a huge save. Thomás Marinho scored 0-3 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonny Banholzer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 33 minutes, Augusto Bruno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nueva chicago and the FC Saavedra players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute Esteve Figueroa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angel Otoniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Saavedra's Omar Urtungo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Angel Otoniel. That made the score 1-3 after 40 minutes of play. Leo Eneko charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leo Eneko the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Saavedra booed when Nueva chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leo Eneko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thomás Marinho made a kick off. Augusto Bruno was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Angel Otoniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Charro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the FC Saavedra players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
