Felipe Etxepare made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danilo Sugar in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Piarres in the 22nd minute of play forced Getrep's goalkeeper Felipe Etxepare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Getrep getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Elias Jobo hit a great ball. Cristian Cambranes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Felipe Etxepare. Getrep's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Olympique de Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Matteo came free, but Alonzo Lawrence reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olympique de Marseille's Alonzo Lawrence played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Matteo in the 40th minute of play. After 40 minutes, Gerardo Matteo made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Olympique de Marseille's Alonzo Lawrence tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Felipe Etxepare showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Sugar in the 47th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Hector Guillen made the kick off in the second half. Cristian Cambranes hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Olympique de Marseille defense, Elpidio Boni kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alonzo Lawrence. The Olympique de Marseille fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alonzo Lawrence should have stopped the shot. In the 63rd minute Danilo Sugar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipe Etxepare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Cambranes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 66 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of Olympique de Marseille:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Getrep:s goal. Elpidio Boni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alonzo Lawrence having to interfere. In the 78th minute of the match Arnulfo Tajo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alonzo Lawrence skillfully saved the ball. Elpidio Boni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Eugenio Piarres fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique de Marseille's protests and gave Eugenio Piarres a yellow card for diving instead. After 81 played minutes Olympique de Marseille got a freekick which was hit by Eugenio Piarres. In the 85th match minute, Getrep was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Jobo to maneuver through the defense. Felipe Etxepare made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danilo Sugar in the 86th minute. After 88 played minutes Getrep got a freekick which was hit by Arnulfo Tajo. After having played for 89 minutes, Bernabe Lordi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olympique de Marseille's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernabe Lordi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Danilo Sugar came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Olympique de Marseille fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danilo Sugar couldn't finish the play. In the 96th minute, Olympique de Marseille's Danilo Sugar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 6-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Getrep had played much better football throughout.
