The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Deportivo Villa Palermo's supporters rose to their feet, but Julio Iigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Godofredo Iliana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Deportivo Villa Palermo fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Deportivo Villa Palermo's Julio Iigo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 96th minute of the match Silverio Rosio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gaspar Madeo skillfully saved the ball. Deportivo Villa Palermo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
