Tadeo Montez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiliano Oinatz, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Ricardo Orlandus who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Lino Monte when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Elvio Quiroga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Lino Monte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ricardo Orlandus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Bernal FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Zelaya were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emiliano Oinatz to strike the kick off in the second half. Ernesto Beliran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Lino Monte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Zelaya's zone, Ricardo Orlandus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lino Monte came out of the goal and Ricardo Orlandus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute Angel Orzaize shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeo Montez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Emiliano Oinatz came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Zelaya fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emiliano Oinatz couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Zelaya booed when Bernal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulgencio Nayely didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90thth minute of the game Ricardo Orlandus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zelaya's Lino Monte was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 93rd minute Ricardo Orlandus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Monte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emiliano Oinatz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Zelaya had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
