The supporters of FC Zenith St. Petersburgo booed when Los Forzosos de Boedo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Atarratze didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Guillermo Ekhi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Zenith St. Petersburgo's Martin Sayveon got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Los Forzosos de Boedo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Zenith St. Petersburgo were winning 0-1.

Silverio Santxol hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 62nd minute, Esteban Santiago ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baldomero Gentza came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Los Forzosos de Boedo's Esteban Santiago. But to his dismay, Esteban Santiago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. FC Zenith St. Petersburgo played a much better game than Los Forzosos de Boedo and deserved their victory. The Los Forzosos de Boedo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
