The referee ignored Medina's protests and gave Froilan Jenaro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of c.a.independiente booed when Medina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Froilan Jenaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Medina's goal looked a bit too open when Ariel Abechuco came free, but Rogelio Sanson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
