Félix Zádori fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Sanchez having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, Alonzo Avellaneda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Cruz del Sur's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rosario Central the free kick. After 27 played minutes La Cruz del Sur got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Avellaneda. Félix Zádori's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Raul Sanchez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Raul Sanchez made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Félix Zádori sent off a good shot on target. Félix Zádori in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Raul Sanchez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Errando in the 35th minute of play forced Rosario Central's goalkeeper Reynaldo Inko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes Rosario Central got a freekick which was hit by Roque Abaurre. A hard shot 41 in the game by Félix Zádori from a close distance when the talented Raul Sanchez managed to make a qualified save. La Cruz del Sur's players were relieved. Félix Zádori struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Raul Sanchez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosario Central. After 44 played minutes La Cruz del Sur got a freekick which was hit by Ambrosio Florin. Raul Sanchez acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 45th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Mateo Columbo. Raul Sanchez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filiberto Etxeberri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 46 in the game by Félix Zádori from a close distance when the talented Raul Sanchez managed to make a qualified save. La Cruz del Sur's players were relieved. Rosario Central's Evelio Hermelando got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rosario Central's Geronimo Dayam was substituted for Filiberto Etxeberri.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Félix Zádori stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mateo Columbo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raul Sanchez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Raul Sanchez came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Rosario Central's Geronimo Dayam. But to his dismay, Geronimo Dayam quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 64th minute, Félix Zádori made a precise shot to the right of Raul Sanchez. La Cruz del Sur's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The supporters of Rosario Central booed when La Cruz del Sur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Lauren didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 71 minutes, Mateo Columbo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rosario Central's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mateo Columbo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Félix Zádori sped through La Cruz del Sur's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Raul Sanchez. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Félix Zádori in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raul Sanchez saved La Cruz del Sur from getting behind. Raul Sanchez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geronimo Dayam went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. La Cruz del Sur's Raul Sanchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvestre Sidro in the 81st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Félix Zádori in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raul Sanchez prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
