In the 14th minute Artemio Roano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dadá Baiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Corderall was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Escaya AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pico FC the free kick. A collision led to Escaya AFC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Rigoberto Corderall hit a great ball. In the 18th minute of the match Erubiel Leoncio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dadá Baiano skillfully saved the ball. Baldomero Saturnin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Escaya AFC fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Escaya AFC's Cirilo Baudelio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Prudencio Quin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cirilo Baudelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dadá Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Roano in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alejo Montae to strike the kick off in the second half. Baldomero Saturnin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Baldomero Saturnin came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Escaya AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baldomero Saturnin couldn't finish the play. Prudencio Quin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Gorosti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Artemio Roano got free with Dadá Baiano in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erubiel Leoncio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
