LIBERTADOR's Romulo Piorno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Goyo in the 13th minute of play. Romulo Piorno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Goyo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elias Goyo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romulo Piorno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Baldomiro Jaunti took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Rodolfo Mero to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Ignado in the 34th minute of play forced LIBERTADOR's goalkeeper Romulo Piorno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elias Goyo made a kick off. Travesía's Florentino Ignado got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Baldomiro Jaunti fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LIBERTADOR's protests and gave Baldomiro Jaunti a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th minute, Florentino Ignado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Florentino Ignado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Romulo Piorno made a huge save. In the 73rd minute, one of LIBERTADOR:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for LIBERTADOR. LIBERTADOR:s Romulo Piorno showed great skill when he stopped Cristian Mitxaut:s penalty. With a little luck, LIBERTADOR's Romulo Piorno got control of the ball when Florentino Ignado tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 79 minutes LIBERTADOR's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cristian Mitxaut who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Travesía's corner Cristian Mitxaut fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Romulo Piorno quite easily take care of the ball. Florentino Ignado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Piorno having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in LIBERTADOR's zone, Elias Goyo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romulo Piorno came out of the goal and Elias Goyo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Travesía could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than LIBERTADOR throughout the match.
