Match Report

Estadio Ambrosetti
Spectators: 6969 (Terracing: 5296, Seating: 1623, VIP seats: 50)
Phil Cobb made the kick off and thus started the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wincent Absolwent in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cipriano Pio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 9th minute of the match, Phil Cobb got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cipriano Pio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Radul Uzunski during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for San Martin! Cipriano Pio had in the 13thth minute some difficulties stopping Wincent Absolwent's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Phil Cobb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Cipriano Pio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wincent Absolwent blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cipriano Pio having to make a save. Ricardo Sabin's late challenge caught a Ambrosetti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Sabin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th match minute, San Martin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Sabin to maneuver through the defense. San Martin's Cipriano Pio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save San Martin from getting a goal against them. Joaquin Sergi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ambrosetti's goalkeeper Santos Montrel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Matias Acevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matias Acevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ambrosetti getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Matias Acevedo hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radul Uzunski in the 29th minute of play forced Ambrosetti's goalkeeper Santos Montrel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ambrosetti's Matias Acevedo got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Cipriano Pio was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Phil Cobb capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Phil Cobb really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fulgencio Mendiko made a kick off. After 53 minutes, Saverio Perfecto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Martin and the Ambrosetti players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd match minute, San Martin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Perfecto to maneuver through the defense. Wincent Absolwent scored 2-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cipriano Pio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Simon Oier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Fulgencio Mendiko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wincent Absolwent sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fulgencio Mendiko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Phil Cobb put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Cipriano Pio. Cipriano Pio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phil Cobb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phil Cobb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Cipriano Pio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ambrosetti booed when San Martin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saverio Perfecto didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Wincent Absolwent's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cipriano Pio was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. When Ricardo Sabin was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 96 minutes had been played. Ricardo Sabin hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. After having played for 99 minutes, Phil Cobb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ambrosetti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phil Cobb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ambrosetti had won after a very even match.
