Jose Hodei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aureliano Pes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. River Plate's Guillermo Haitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Primitivo Cordairo in the 9th minute of play. Primitivo Cordairo's late challenge caught a River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Primitivo Cordairo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th minute, Primitivo Cordairo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roque Afonso's late challenge caught a Andalgalá's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 17th minute Blas Urdaspal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aureliano Pes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When River Plate's Jose Hodei in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Andalgalá's goalie prevented a goal. Aureliano Pes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blas Urdaspal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 20th minute of the match Primitivo Cordairo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Primitivo Cordairo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Primitivo Cordairo kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, River Plate's Maximino Hitzeder tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With his leg Guillermo Haitz managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Andalgalá's Uriel Eneko fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jose Hodei in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aureliano Pes saved Andalgalá from getting behind. When Zeledon Panfilo fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Andalgalá's protests and gave Zeledon Panfilo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th minute, Zeledon Panfilo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aureliano Pes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jose Hodei's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Altuğ Hasif received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Aureliano Pes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Blas Urdaspal in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aureliano Pes saved Andalgalá from getting behind. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Blas Urdaspal came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blas Urdaspal couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute Uriel Eneko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Haitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jesus Umea kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After 67 minutes, Jose Hodei made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Andalgalá's Aureliano Pes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jose Hodei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Aureliano Pes made a huge save. Aureliano Pes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jose Hodei's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Jose Hodei took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aureliano Pes. Aureliano Pes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The supporters of River Plate booed when Andalgalá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Ritchie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Altuğ Hasif received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Aureliano Pes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jose Hodei recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Altuğ Hasif came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Altuğ Hasif couldn't finish the play. The Andalgalá fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. River Plate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
