The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victorino Quintyn to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in DIEGO's zone, Tomas Gonzalez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ture Harlén came out of the goal and Tomas Gonzalez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute, Uriel Pueblo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Jose Admon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andres Veto, 68 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Irene's goalkeeper Arnoldo Berart had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Uriel Pueblo. Generoso Madaleno kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Andres Veto might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnoldo Berart. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andres Veto ran back to his position shaking his head. 78 minutes into the match, DIEGO's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Gonzalez came free, but Ture Harlén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 played minutes DIEGO got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Hernando. Patricio Salomone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ture Harlén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Patricio Salomone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Irene were the better team. Irene's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
