Spectators: 7070 (Terracing: 5304, Seating: 1626, VIP seats: 140) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Prudencio Laurentzi started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Waldir Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiburcio Bazil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waldir Baptista hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. A collision led to Deportivo Deroense getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Eustaquio Abad hit a great ball. In the 13th match minute, Porteña AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prudencio Laurentzi to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Prudencio Laurentzi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Porteña AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ovidio Milio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Candido Izotz. Deportivo Deroense's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Candido Izotz came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Porteña AFC's Humberto Abel. But to his dismay, Humberto Abel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 30 played minutes Porteña AFC got a freekick which was hit by Baldomero Salvadore. After 33 played minutes Deportivo Deroense got a freekick which was hit by Eustaquio Abad. In the 35th minute, Elvio Inge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Waldir Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 39 played minutes Porteña AFC got a freekick which was hit by Baldomero Salvadore. Tiburcio Bazil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eustaquio Abad went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Rolando Schiavi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Tiburcio Bazil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Humberto Abel fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Porteña AFC's protests and gave Humberto Abel a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Porteña AFC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Abel.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Waldir Baptista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tiburcio Bazil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldir Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Candido Izotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Abel in the 54th minute of play. Eustaquio Abad hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Candido Izotz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prudencio Laurentzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Rolando Schiavi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Bazil having to interfere. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Deportivo Deroense! Elvio Inge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Porteña AFC's zone, Waldir Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiburcio Bazil came out of the goal and Waldir Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saturnino Gai struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Tiburcio Bazil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Deroense. The Porteña AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
