He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Valentin Mercurio. Anselmo Costante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Barrionuevo having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Ruben Caton dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Valentin Mercurio, 2-0. After 28 minutes of play, Los Pasteros Verdes's Ruben Caton made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valentin Mercurio was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 32nd minute, Jorge Tolino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valentin Mercurio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Tanio, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Juan Maidana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Valentin Mercurio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silverio Goito kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan Maidana was the one to do the kick off. Valentin Mercurio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Maidana in the 51st minute of play. Los Pasteros Verdes were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Universitario de Deportes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ruben Caton took the corner. Adrian Barrionuevo made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Anselmo Costante sent off a good shot on target. Jorge Tolino hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Universitario de Deportes's Valentin Mercurio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Maidana in the 58th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Universitario de Deportes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruperto Papo to maneuver through the defense. Valentin Mercurio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Maidana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 63 minutes into the match, Los Pasteros Verdes's goalkeeper Adrian Barrionuevo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anselmo Costante. Adrian Barrionuevo was a little too slow when Anselmo Costante got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 4-1. The audience was convinced that Jorge Tolino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adrian Barrionuevo was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Anselmo Costante struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Adrian Barrionuevo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Universitario de Deportes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Tolino in the 75th minute of play forced Los Pasteros Verdes's goalkeeper Adrian Barrionuevo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Universitario de Deportes booed when Los Pasteros Verdes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Emenon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Juan Maidana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Pasteros Verdes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Los Pasteros Verdes fully deserved thier win.
