Spectators: 7059 (Terracing: 5296, Seating: 1623, VIP seats: 140) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rigoberto Navarro started the match with the kick off. If Rolando Schiavi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 6th minute, Teodoro Farias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teodoro Farias charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teodoro Farias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ombú getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Teodoro Farias hit a great ball. After 10 played minutes Ombú got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Eliu. Ombú's Joel Donostia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Ombú from getting a goal against them. Teodoro Farias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Candido Izotz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andres Abarca in the 21st minute of play forced Deportivo Deroense's goalkeeper Candido Izotz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Donostia came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Deroense's Waldir Baptista. But to his dismay, Waldir Baptista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Candido Izotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Navarro in the 29th minute of play. After 32 played minutes Deportivo Deroense got a freekick which was hit by Eustaquio Abad. In the 34th minute Rigoberto Navarro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Candido Izotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ombú's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Waldir Baptista 39 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. Waldir Baptista struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Joel Donostia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Deroense. Deportivo Deroense's Candido Izotz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Goren in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Waldir Baptista made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Waldir Baptista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Donostia was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Deportivo Deroense's Candido Izotz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rigoberto Navarro in the 68th minute of play. After 70 minutes, Saturnino Gai mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Deroense and the Ombú players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ombú booed when Deportivo Deroense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnino Gai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ombú's Orlando Eliu got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Leonardo Donio made a precise shot to the right of Candido Izotz. Deportivo Deroense's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rigoberto Navarro got free with Candido Izotz in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Teodoro Farias scored 2-4 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Candido Izotz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joel Donostia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Waldir Baptista's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Teodoro Farias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Candido Izotz having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Deportivo Deroense's goal looked a bit too open when Andres Abarca came free, but Candido Izotz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ombú played a much better game than Deportivo Deroense and deserved their victory. The Deportivo Deroense players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
