Palomero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bartolo Abarca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Dolfo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 7th match minute, Palomero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Iturri to maneuver through the defense. Gustavo Dolfo struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Adriana Sabino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riachuelo. After a defensive mix-up in Palomero's zone, Gustavo Dolfo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adriana Sabino came out of the goal and Gustavo Dolfo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benicio Erlantz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tobias Iturri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute Bartolo Abarca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Erlantz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pablo Lauren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Benicio Erlantz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pablo Lauren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benicio Erlantz having to interfere. Riachuelo's Gaston Napier got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute Tobias Iturri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Erlantz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bartolo Abarca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Benicio Erlantz made a huge save. In the 31st minute, Pablo Lauren had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Norberto Rexino charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Norberto Rexino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Norberto Rexino hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bartolo Abarca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leonardo Bertran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustavo Dolfo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Adriana Sabino skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 59 minutes, Emilio Rexino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Riachuelo and the Palomero players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benicio Erlantz came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Palomero's Tobias Iturri. But to his dismay, Tobias Iturri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 63rd minute Leonardo Bertran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Erlantz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute of the match Palomero got a corner. Riachuelo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leonardo Bertran ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Leonardo Bertran got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benicio Erlantz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Bartolo Abarca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palomero's supporters rose to their feet, but Bartolo Abarca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benicio Erlantz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd minute, Tobias Iturri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Cosme Gilesindo fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Benicio Erlantz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Iturri in the 74th minute of the match. Palomero's Adriana Sabino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Palomero from getting a goal against them. Tobias Iturri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeledon Selatse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benicio Erlantz having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Riachuelo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Palomero.
