Isidoro Chano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Ponce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lino Ponc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Lino Euloxu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute Lino Ponc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Euloxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gualterio Frichoso took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isidoro Chano. Isidoro Chano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Gonzalo Vincent kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lino Euloxu. That made the score 1-1 in the 27 minute of play. Lino Euloxu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lino Ponc's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lino Ponc in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lino Euloxu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 35 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Hibai had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lino Euloxu. Monsalvo AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reynaldo Hibai was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Lino Euloxu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcial Tulio's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. In the 47th minute Gonzalo Vincent shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Euloxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes Monsalvo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Clis. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Monsalvo AFC were furious when Aldo Elorri was red carded, 55 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 54 minutes into the game, one of Monsalvo AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
