But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evelio Elivareo couldn't finish the play. In the 20th minute, Nils-Arne Rystad left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maciá fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The Pichanal FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Maciá were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rene Mantzio to make the kick off. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pichanal FC's goalkeeper Ambrosio Pagomari, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Evelio Elivareo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ambrosio Pagomari read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Feliciano Veremundo during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 73rd match minute, Pichanal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliciano Veremundo to maneuver through the defense.
