In the 28th minute of the match El Gran Menotti got a corner. Los Hornos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abd al-Asis Djamel ran over to the corner to take the kick. El Gran Menotti's Pedro Gilabert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enzo Raphael in the 33rd minute of play. After 37 minutes, Abd al-Asis Djamel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Gran Menotti and the Los Hornos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 39 played minutes, Los Hornos FC's Cristian Ayala shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Gilabert came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Los Hornos FC reached it. Pedro Gilabert didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernando Txilar went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Angelo Urki made the kick off in the second half. Israel Sotero struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Angelo Urki during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fernando Txilar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Urki got his second yellow card in the match during the 95th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Angelo Urki kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
