Omar Ekialde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Ortle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juan Asier took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eulalio Tabb. Eulalio Tabb dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The referee ignored Argentinos Juniors's protests and gave Federico Gaitan a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of LOS PIRATAS booed when Argentinos Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Gaitan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, LOS PIRATAS's Agustin Ovando seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Agustin Ovando the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of LOS PIRATAS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Agustin Ovando had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of LOS PIRATAS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Argentinos Juniors:s goal. Eulalio Tabb had in the 26thth minute some difficulties stopping Roque Lekubegi's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A collision led to Argentinos Juniors getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Bernardino Nikola hit a great ball. Luciano Ortle charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luciano Ortle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gavino Stephen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Omar Ekialde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Luciano Ortle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. LOS PIRATAS's Eulalio Tabb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Santos in the 56th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gavino Stephen in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Omar Ekialde saved Argentinos Juniors from getting behind. Luciano Ortle succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 59th playminute. Eulalio Tabb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Santos in the 63rd minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Gavino Stephen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Omar Ekialde. Gavino Stephen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. After having played for 76 minutes, Gavino Stephen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LOS PIRATAS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gavino Stephen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gavino Stephen struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Omar Ekialde didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LOS PIRATAS. In the 79th minute, Gavino Stephen made a precise shot to the right of Omar Ekialde. Argentinos Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. 83 minutes into the game, LOS PIRATAS's Gavino Stephen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Omar Ekialde made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. After 89 minutes, Benedicto Santos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Argentinos Juniors and the LOS PIRATAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Argentinos Juniors getting a freekick after 89 minutes play.
