The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 11 minutes, Rosendo Benino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmita AFC and the Visser players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th minute, Rosendo Benino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Epifanio Ieltxu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Cambranes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ubaldo Argoitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Gregorio Abaurre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gregorio Abaurre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Argoitz in the 19th minute of play. Melchor Tiso kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Argoitz in the 27th minute of play forced Visser's goalkeeper Gregorio Abaurre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gregorio Abaurre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Argoitz in the 29th minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Norberto Argoitz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gregorio Abaurre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th minute, Prospero Santxol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norberto Argoitz struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Gregorio Abaurre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmita AFC. 42 minutes into the match, Denis Serafo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Palmita AFC's Epifanio Ieltxu. Epifanio Ieltxu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Jimeno Onbera, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 47 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Epifanio Ieltxu was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Augusto Cambranes made a kick off. Augusto Cambranes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Ieltxu having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norberto Argoitz got free with Gregorio Abaurre in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ubaldo Argoitz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gregorio Abaurre read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. After some careless play in the Visser defense, Norberto Argoitz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gregorio Abaurre. The Visser fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gregorio Abaurre should have stopped the shot. Visser's Gregorio Abaurre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Visser from getting a goal against them. Norberto Argoitzs short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Gregorio Abaurre to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ubaldo Argoitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Gregorio Abaurre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
