When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Rafael Maria Carte put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Generoso Barto. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Hegoi got free with Teofilo Froila in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benedicto Osoro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teofilo Froila having to interfere. The supporters of Pilcaniyeu FC booed when Reconquista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignacio Remicio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th match minute, Pilcaniyeu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejo Abascal to maneuver through the defense.

Reconquista succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Pilcaniyeu FC had controlled the match.
