In the 9th minute, Ivan Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Pascual Natanael kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alfredo Crescencio. That made the score 2-0 in the 11 minute of play. After 15 played minutes independiente got a freekick which was hit by Vassilis Mitseas. After 16 played minutes Sassuolo Calcio got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Silvino. Alfredo Crescencio was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Maximo Sarracino capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wen Ang Quan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Procopio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnaldo Procopio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arnaldo Procopio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Wen Ang Quan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the game, Pastor Llorian was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sassuolo Calcio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave independiente the free kick. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnaldo Procopio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adan Fidensio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Alfredo Crescencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Paulino Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 62 played minutes Sassuolo Calcio got a freekick which was hit by Pastor Llorian. Alonzo Palban hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Arnaldo Procopio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Wen Ang Quan made a huge save. In the 69th minute Sassuolo Calcio were awarded a corner. Romeo Alvarez went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Sassuolo Calcio's Romeo Alvarez to fire away a dangerous shot which Wen Ang Quan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Wen Ang Quan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnaldo Procopio in the 71st minute. With a little luck, independiente's Wen Ang Quan got control of the ball when Arnaldo Procopio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 77 minutes independiente's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Romeo Alvarez who took care of the corner kick. Arnaldo Procopio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wen Ang Quan having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adan Fidensio in the 85th minute of play forced Sassuolo Calcio's goalkeeper Alfredo Crescencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sassuolo Calcio's Alfredo Crescencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximo Sarracino in the 87th minute of play. Wen Ang Quan came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sassuolo Calcio's Arnaldo Procopio. But to his dismay, Arnaldo Procopio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Apolo Silvino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. independiente fully deserved thier win.
