With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardo Hug in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cleto Innocenzio saved Spams from getting behind. If Ricardo Hug had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cleto Innocenzio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uriel Irrintzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anibal Goizeder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 26 minutes into the match, Spams's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Hug came free, but Cleto Innocenzio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, Uriel Irrintzi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Hug in the 32nd minute of play forced Spams's goalkeeper Cleto Innocenzio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester City's zone, Anibal Goizeder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Candido Ostots came out of the goal and Anibal Goizeder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Anibal Goizeder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Manchester City booed when Spams was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Gagriel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leandro Gil took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cleto Innocenzio. Spams's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Ricardo Hug managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester City's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Hug was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cleto Innocenzio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Uriel Irrintzi might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cleto Innocenzio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Uriel Irrintzi ran back to his position shaking his head. Cleto Innocenzio made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Ricardo Hug sent off a good shot on target. Spams's Anibal Goizeder got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Manchester City's Ricardo Hug got a free kick in the 71st minute. Cristian Benitez hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Candido Ostots stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anibal Goizeder's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Cleto Innocenzio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uriel Irrintzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. When Uriel Irrintzi came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uriel Irrintzi couldn't finish the play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 80th minute, but Cleto Innocenzio got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Spams hanging dry this time. 87 minutes into the game, Uriel Irrintzi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manchester City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Spams the free kick. The supporters of Spams booed when Manchester City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uriel Irrintzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maximiliano Mattin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Cleto Innocenzio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Spams's goalkeeper Cleto Innocenzio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Hug. When Luisito Ovando came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisito Ovando couldn't finish the play. The Manchester City players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Spams from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
