The audience was convinced that Rodolfo Azibar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Candido Ostots was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Calera's Silverio Calvino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisito Ovando in the 41st minute of play. Luisito Ovando could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Silverio Calvino made a huge save. 43 minutes into the game, Baldomiro Paul was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Calera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester City the free kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Uriel Irrintzi to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ricardo Hug got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Rodolfo Azibar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calera's Haroldo Meder quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Maximiliano Mattin, made in the 87th minute of the game. Silverio Calvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Hug, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Calera's Silverio Calvino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uriel Irrintzi in the 98th minute of play. When the match was over Calera could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Manchester City throughout the match.
