In the 3rd match minute, Luján was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Giorda to maneuver through the defense. 8 minutes into the match, Luján's Leonides Gaufred sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victorio Urdaspal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sibal Topi struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Victorio Urdaspal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luján. Leonides Gaufred recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pirguita FC! After a rather tough play, Pirguita FC's Dalmacio Chesus got a free kick in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Luján's zone, Rafael Kinsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnulfo Ioritz came out of the goal and Rafael Kinsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonides Gaufred recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ruben Roland's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victorio Urdaspal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Fausto Giorda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruben Roland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonides Gaufred blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victorio Urdaspal having to make a save. After having played for 42 minutes, Ruben Roland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luján's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruben Roland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denis Abadie to make the kick off. In the 63rd minute, Leonides Gaufred fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Victorio Urdaspal, passed just outside the right post. Pirguita FC's Victorio Urdaspal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Gaufred in the 63rd minute of play. In the 74th minute, Fausto Giorda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 76 played minutes Luján got a freekick which was hit by Saturnino Tancredo. After a defensive mix-up in Luján's zone, Denis Abadie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnulfo Ioritz came out of the goal and Denis Abadie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnulfo Ioritz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Vitin in the 81st minute of play. Ruben Roland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 94 minutes, Leonides Gaufred managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luján's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonides Gaufred was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ruben Roland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Victorio Urdaspal made a huge save. Luján were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
