In the 23rd minute Mauricio Telesforo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Hondo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Jean François Champollion booed when Garza FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Chabier didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Jean François Champollion's Nistor Trăistaru got a free kick in the 27th minute. After some careless play in the Garza FC defense, Alin Donici kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eriberto Hondo. The Garza FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eriberto Hondo should have stopped the shot. Humberto Breogan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Cristian Ixaka made a huge save. 35 minutes into the match, Garza FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nistor Trăistaru came free, but Eriberto Hondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Mauricio Telesforo made a precise shot to the right of Eriberto Hondo. Garza FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. With his leg Cristian Ixaka managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Garza FC's Humberto Breogan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

After 83 played minutes Alin Donici could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-4 into the left cross. Federico Herrera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jean François Champollion's Cristian Ixaka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Herrera in the 89th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Jean François Champollion left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Garza FC.
