Spectators: 6923 (Terracing: 5296, Seating: 1623, VIP seats: 4) Mariano Etxahun made the kick off and thus started the match. Igor Teodor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gervasio Goi having to interfere. Gervasio Goi made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Igor Teodor sent off a good shot on target. Amador Ezkerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Etxahun in the 10th minute of play. Amador Ezkerra came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Bafana Bafana's Mariano Etxahun. But to his dismay, Mariano Etxahun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A collision led to Matagusanos getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Igor Teodor hit a great ball. Adrian Bernaldo's late challenge caught a Los Bafana Bafana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrian Bernaldo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Matagusanos getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Adrian Bernaldo hit a great ball. Gervasio Goi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Teodor, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, Los Bafana Bafana's Maximo Abastas seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Maximo Abastas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Los Bafana Bafana protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Maximo Abastas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 23rd minute, one of Los Bafana Bafana:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Los Bafana Bafana. Los Bafana Bafana:s Gervasio Goi showed great skill when he stopped Cleto Fero:s penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Camilo Refugio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Bafana Bafana's supporters rose to their feet, but Camilo Refugio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amador Ezkerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31st minute Camilo Refugio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amador Ezkerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 31 minutes, Camilo Refugio made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Matagusanos's Amador Ezkerra tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 45 played minutes Matagusanos got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Bernaldo.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cleto Fero to make the kick off. Los Bafana Bafana's Gervasio Goi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleto Fero in the 52nd minute of play. Igor Teodor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Gervasio Goi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. One of Matagusanos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Los Bafana Bafana:s goal. Camilo Refugio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Los Bafana Bafana could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Matagusanos throughout the match.
