Benedicto Faro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trinidad Pruett in the 3rd minute of play. Desiderio Rolado came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Salagasta's Pablo Rojelio. But to his dismay, Pablo Rojelio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 24 minutes into the match, Alvear's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Rojelio came free, but Desiderio Rolado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Lekubegi in the 26th minute of play forced Alvear's goalkeeper Desiderio Rolado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltasar Lekubegi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Desiderio Rolado having to make a save. Pablo Rojelio took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Desiderio Rolado. Desiderio Rolado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Desiderio Rolado was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Baltasar Lekubegi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Baltasar Lekubegi really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. The supporters of Alvear booed when Salagasta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Millrick didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute Eustacio Claris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedicto Faro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Salagasta's zone, Silvano Esiquio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benedicto Faro came out of the goal and Silvano Esiquio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute Cornelio Hanot suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Eustacio Claris fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alvear's protests and gave Eustacio Claris a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Salagasta booed when Alvear was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Claris didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes Alvear got a freekick which was hit by Marciano Rico. When Salagasta's Baltasar Lekubegi in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Benedicto Faro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Godfredo Piarres. In the 73rd minute, Paulino Ubendu made a precise shot to the right of Desiderio Rolado. Alvear's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Juan Checa was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 92 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute, one of Alvear:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Alvear. Desiderio Rolado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulino Ubendu went, in the 98th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score.
