When Angel Azibar came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Atleticorn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angel Azibar couldn't finish the play. Naranjo's Amado Sagrario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Elivareo in the 29th minute of play. Amado Sagrario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Lico in the 31st minute of play. Atleticorn's David Elivareo got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Silvano Loiola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ubaldo Xacintu hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, David Elivareo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atleticorn's supporters rose to their feet, but David Elivareo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amado Sagrario breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 37 minutes, Domingo Guipuzkoa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Naranjo and the Atleticorn players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Atleticorn booed when Naranjo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Guipuzkoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Elivareo in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amado Sagrario prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Angel Azibar might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amado Sagrario. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Angel Azibar ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Atleticorn defense, Domingo Guipuzkoa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lázaro Palos. The Atleticorn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lázaro Palos should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Elivareo to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 56 minutes, Angel Azibar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atleticorn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Angel Azibar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Emeterio in the 60th minute of play forced Atleticorn's goalkeeper Lázaro Palos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Elivareo scored 1-3 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amado Sagrario, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Naranjo getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Eusebio Danel hit a great ball. Jacinto Shepherd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Amado Sagrario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benedicto Jakes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lázaro Palos. Atleticorn's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
