In the 41st minute Jacobo Francis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Tibalt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Tigre defense, Jacobo Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgard Tibalt. The Tigre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgard Tibalt should have stopped the shot. After 88 played minutes Tigre got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Michael. Tigre's Lino Benet suffered a sore knee after 92 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Aldo Flores got his second yellow card in the match during the 92nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, C.A. River Plate's Aldo Flores got a free kick in the 94th minute. The Tigre supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching C.A. River Plate's performance. The match ended with a win for C.A. River Plate.
