The crowd rose to their feet as Marcos Olentzaro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mauricio Crescencio. That made the score 4-0 in the 40 minute of play. After 43 played minutes Mercedes got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Vermudo. Guido Urtsua's late challenge caught a Mercedes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guido Urtsua helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Bohemios Plate getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Guido Urtsua hit a great ball. Marcos Olentzaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Mercedes's zone, Alfonso Llorian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Georgi Botusharov came out of the goal and Alfonso Llorian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfonso Llorian got free with Georgi Botusharov in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcos Olentzaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 84th minute Angel Gabon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Crescencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
