Ciro Cloyo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Monico having to interfere. After some careless play in the Defensa y Justicia defense, Ciro Cloyo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Monico. The Defensa y Justicia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Monico should have stopped the shot. When Eugen Wilke came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Defensa y Justicia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugen Wilke couldn't finish the play. Eugen Wilke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eugen Wilke succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. The supporters of Defensa y Justicia booed when BOCA JR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorio Valerio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 38 played minutes Defensa y Justicia got a freekick which was hit by Stellan Billvall. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciro Cloyo in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Monico saved Defensa y Justicia from getting behind. BOCA JR's Jeremias Guilabertus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugen Wilke in the 44th minute of play. After a rather tough play, BOCA JR's Victor Quintyn got a free kick in the 45th minute. Gervasio Txindoki made in the 46th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Honorio Valerio. In the 48th minute Eugen Wilke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Guilabertus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eugen Wilke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd match minute, Defensa y Justicia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Rojelio to maneuver through the defense. Ciro Cloyo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Defensa y Justicia's Julio Monico got control of the ball when German Olayo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Quintyn during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jeremias Guilabertus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basilio Ulizes, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Julio Monico made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aquiles Segio in the 76th minute. In the 87th minute Jeremias Urbez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Guilabertus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremias Guilabertus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugen Wilke in the 89th minute of the match.
