The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Artemio Caetano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ceibal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artemio Caetano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Sancho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Gaizko in the 6th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Americo Thomas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alejandro Gonzo, 1-0. Delmiro Vito charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delmiro Vito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Delmiro Vito kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Tapers's Christian Sancho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Caetano in the 18th minute of play. Christian Sancho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artemio Caetano in the 20th minute of the match. Ceibal were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Tapers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Raul Romelio took the corner. Ceibal's Julian Garci was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Christian Sancho in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ceferino Hori kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Emilio Gaizko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christian Sancho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Artemio Caetano's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute, Americo Thomas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alejandro Gonzo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 34 played minutes Tapers got a freekick which was hit by Americo Thomas. Emilio Gaizko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Sancho having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Artemio Caetano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emilio Gaizko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tapers's Christian Sancho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Caetano in the 42nd minute of play. After 43 minutes, Fabio Remicio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tapers and the Ceibal players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tapers's Fabio Remicio got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Christian Sancho came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Ceibal's Emilio Gaizko. But to his dismay, Emilio Gaizko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emilio Gaizko made a kick off. Alejandro Gonzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Americo Thomas in the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute Artemio Caetano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Sancho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ceibal's Emilio Gaizko got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Tapers's zone, Julian Garci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Sancho came out of the goal and Julian Garci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tapers! Amadeo Ostots kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Emilio Gaizko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Christian Sancho made a huge save. 80 minutes into the game, Emilio Gaizko lined in a short shot 2-3 behind a frustrated Christian Sancho. After 83 minutes of play Tapers's Fabio Remicio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After some careless play in the Tapers defense, Emilio Gaizko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Sancho. The Tapers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Sancho should have stopped the shot. Artemio Caetano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Sancho having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Tapers's goalkeeper Christian Sancho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emilio Gaizko. In the 95th minute, Tapers's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Emilio Gaizko fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ceibal's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
