After having played for 42 minutes, Clemente Donzel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Carlos Bilardo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemente Donzel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 45 minutes of play, Deportivo Carlos Bilardo's Apolo Veremundo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ceferino Lluques was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ceferino Lluques made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Apolo Veremundo sent off a good shot on target.
