Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when David Medina took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the game, Varela's Esteban Mederi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dario Liberto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Reynaldo Montel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silvestre Lander's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Reynaldo Montel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ambrosio Ponce in the 10th minute of the match. If David Medina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agustin Lizardi struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Dario Liberto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varela. Roque Argi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Liberto having to interfere. Agustin Lizardi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 32 minutes, Isidro Misael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caimancito and the Varela players grew even worse after the yellow card. The goalkeeper, Dario Liberto, was totally fooled by Varela's Eloy Claris, who 34 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Benito Misael might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reynaldo Montel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benito Misael ran back to his position shaking his head. David Medina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Liberto having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ambrosio Ponce made the kick off in the second half. Silvestre Lander's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Reynaldo Montel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Silvestre Lander kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 54thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Varela's keeper Reynaldo Montel was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Ambrosio Ponce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Ambrosio Ponce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Agustin Lizardi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dario Liberto was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Agustin Lizardi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varela's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustin Lizardi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dario Liberto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 72 minutes into the match, Varela's David Medina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dario Liberto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Silvestre Lander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Montel having to interfere. The supporters of Caimancito booed when Varela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Mederi didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Medina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Liberto having to interfere. If David Medina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Agustin Lizardi sped through Caimancito's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dario Liberto. For all the effort they put into the match, the Caimancito players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Varela.
