Lino Carlomagno's late challenge caught a Vilelas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marihuana's goalkeeper Claudio Matei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Virgilio Quintyn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Marihuana's zone, Alfonso Oinatz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio Matei came out of the goal and Alfonso Oinatz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Virgilio Quintyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Claudio Matei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Oinatz in the 35th minute of play. Virgilio Quintyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Claudio Matei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Niceto Vedillo fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marihuana's protests and gave Niceto Vedillo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute, Niceto Vedillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Virgilio Quintyn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vilelas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Quintyn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudio Matei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Camilo Brais made a kick off. Gavino Roano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aquilino Hustaz in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute, Aquilino Hustaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Aquilino Hustaz came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Marihuana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquilino Hustaz couldn't finish the play. Gavino Roano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Brais, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute, Martin Otsoko had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Fabian Mirande fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vilelas FC's protests and gave Fabian Mirande a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vilelas FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Fabian Mirande hit a great ball. Virgilio Quintyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marihuana's Evelio Clemencin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 83rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gavino Roano but with some difficulty. After a defensive mix-up in Marihuana's zone, Virgilio Quintyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio Matei came out of the goal and Virgilio Quintyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vilelas FC's Gavino Roano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Vilelas FC from getting a goal against them.
