After a defensive mix-up in Gasoducto's zone, Ebi Smolarek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto Ladio came out of the goal and Ebi Smolarek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Freddy Oliverios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Freddy Oliverios in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fausto Ladio saved Gasoducto from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eustaquio Hats in the 22nd minute of play forced Gasoducto's goalkeeper Fausto Ladio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Gasoducto's Fausto Ladio got control of the ball when Ebi Smolarek tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Teodosio Innocenzio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores de Ameghino's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodosio Innocenzio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Ladio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Defensores de Ameghino's zone, Silvano Rozarius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aristides Baldovino came out of the goal and Silvano Rozarius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gasoducto's Fausto Ladio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Gasoducto from getting a goal against them. Freddy Oliverios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Freddy Oliverios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Ladio having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Gasoducto's goal looked a bit too open when Ebi Smolarek came free, but Fausto Ladio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Teodosio Innocenzio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 48th minute, Ebi Smolarek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodosio Innocenzio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Freddy Oliverios scored 1-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fausto Ladio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fausto Ladio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodosio Innocenzio in the 56th minute of play. Ebi Smolarek scored 2-0 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fausto Ladio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 92 played minutes Gasoducto got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Caitano. Gasoducto's Fausto Ladio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ebi Smolarek in the 92nd minute of play. In the 96th minute Teodosio Innocenzio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Ladio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Defensores de Ameghino's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
