Severiano Maura's late challenge caught a Amberes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severiano Maura helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 60th minute of the game. One of Laferrere:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Amberes FC:s goal. Amberes FC's Alvaro Honrio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vanko Bakarski in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Vanko Bakarski fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alvaro Honrio, passed just outside the right post. Laferrere were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Amberes FC to leave the ground with a draw.
