Ernesto Chayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Marko having to interfere. Quimilí's Cristobal Marko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Chayo in the 10th minute of play. Cristobal Marko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Chayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Quimilí getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Siro Cesaro hit a great ball. Higinio Tercero made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by El Gato Lopez FC's Robustiano Opilano. El Gato Lopez FC's Marcial Vincent played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Olo in the 19th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Hugo Errolan managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Gato Lopez FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Errolan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristobal Marko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristobal Marko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Chayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Santiago Evangelista could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Marcial Vincent however easily saved by the left post. Baldomiro Dunixi kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, El Gato Lopez FC's Ernesto Chayo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristobal Marko narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernesto Chayo to make the kick off. Ernesto Chayo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 52nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 53rd minute Santiago Evangelista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Vincent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, Santiago Evangelista cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Marcial Vincent was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristobal Marko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesto Chayo's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. El Gato Lopez FC's Marcial Vincent played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Olo in the 68th minute of play. After 70 played minutes Ernesto Chayo rounded Quimilí's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. After 89 minutes, Benicio Estevon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quimilí and the El Gato Lopez FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, Benicio Estevon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute Ernesto Chayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristobal Marko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ernesto Chayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The El Gato Lopez FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Gato Lopez FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
