Juancho's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ciro Montrelle ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ulises Bladi made a great header on Trinchera AFC's corner, it was just that Juancho's Natanael Arce managed to reach the ball for a save. 18 minutes into the game, Juancho's Jairo Berriotxoa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Denis Lorenz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 24th minute, Bill Rayner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39thth minute of the game Bill Rayner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Juancho's Natanael Arce was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Constantino Bartuelo hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Juancho's Luciano Olentzaro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Denis Lorenz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Trinchera AFC's Denis Lorenz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Trinchera AFC from getting a goal against them.

The audience was convinced that Bill Rayner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Natanael Arce was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Roberto Cabañas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bill Rayner in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Natanael Arce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Trinchera AFC's Denis Lorenz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomiro Roldanillo in the 75th minute of play. The supporters of Trinchera AFC booed when Juancho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Venancio Austin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Natanael Arce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bill Rayner in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Bill Rayner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bill Rayner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bill Rayner got free with Natanael Arce in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Juancho's zone, Roberto Cabañas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natanael Arce came out of the goal and Roberto Cabañas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Trinchera AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
