With a left leg Ulises Gombal saved Guzmán FC from getting behind. In the 10th minute Fernando Felipo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulises Gombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Felipo in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ulises Gombal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 17th play minutes Fernando Felipo shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Ulises Gombal and just under the crossbar into goal. A collision led to Guzmán FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Abelardo Goren hit a great ball. In the 27th minute of the match Fernando Felipo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ulises Gombal skillfully saved the ball. After 30 minutes Guzmán FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fernando Felipo who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Fernando Felipo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ulises Gombal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ubaldo Medardo hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Guzmán FC's Ulises Gombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Felipo in the 36th minute of play. Ubaldo Medardo scored 0-4 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ulises Gombal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ulises Gombal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Felipo's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. When RIVER's Fernando Felipo in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guzmán FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 46th minute Esteban Oskarbi suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. In the 47th minute, Marco Trent hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some careless play in the RIVER defense, Anselmo Ilixo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cecilio Veronica. The RIVER fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cecilio Veronica should have stopped the shot. Fernando Felipo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 66 minutes into the game, Fernando Felipo lined in a short shot 1-6 behind a frustrated Ulises Gombal. Ulises Gombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Felipo, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Guzmán FC's Ulises Gombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Felipo in the 77th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, RIVER's Fernando Felipo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulises Gombal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ulises Gombal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thijs Ponk in the 91st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as RIVER's Maciej Skrzypiec slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ulises Gombal. That made the score 1-9 after 94 minutes of play.
