In the 6th minute Eulalio Monte collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. The supporters of Club Deportivo Monteagudo booed when Aimogasta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernan Joachim didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Benigno Guerau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19thth minute of the game Alejandro Ilixo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Deportivo Monteagudo's Saverio Lamberto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Club Deportivo Monteagudo getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Eustacio Harkaitz hit a great ball. Aimogasta FC's Wilfredo Marin couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. Marcelo Gonza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelo Gonza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Chants of Aimogasta FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Club Deportivo Monteagudo had held the ball for most of the match.
