Zeledon Bernabel came out of the goal and Cipriano Errando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind MAGUILA's goalkeeper Eliseo Banegas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, EL LEON's Isidro Beti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eliseo Banegas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gottfrid Erserman in the 29th minute of play forced MAGUILA's goalkeeper Eliseo Banegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Errando got free with Zeledon Bernabel in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Reynaldo Charro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. EL LEON's Isidro Beti managed to work through MAGUILA's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Isidro Beti dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulino Quirce during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 78 played minutes MAGUILA got a freekick which was hit by Paulino Quirce. In the 80th match minute, MAGUILA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Alonso to maneuver through the defense. MAGUILA's Eliseo Banegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidro Beti in the 88th minute of play. When Cipriano Errando fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MAGUILA's protests and gave Cipriano Errando a yellow card for diving instead. The MAGUILA players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
