The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tobias Fresco helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Huanqueros FC's Tobias Fresco got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 10th minute Filomeno Arias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Txerran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeledon Leobardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Iyan having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severiano Garaile got free with Evaristo Txerran in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th match minute, Huanqueros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remigio Senin to maneuver through the defense. Evaristo Txerran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filomeno Arias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Filomeno Arias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filomeno Iyan didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Huanqueros FC's Tobias Fresco shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Zeledon Leobardo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filomeno Iyan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mathew AFC's zone, Tobias Fresco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filomeno Iyan came out of the goal and Tobias Fresco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Huanqueros FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filomeno Arias to make the kick off. Evaristo Txerran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severiano Garaile in the 52nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Huanqueros FC's Remigio Senin got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Huanqueros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Severiano Garaile came free, but Evaristo Txerran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeledon Leobardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Filomeno Iyan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Zeledon Leobardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zeledon Leobardo got free with Filomeno Iyan in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Huanqueros FC's Filomeno Iyan threw himself towards the right post 71 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tobias Fresco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Zeledon Leobardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Iyan having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Zeledon Leobardo could shoot a difficult shot in the 83rd minute, which Filomeno Iyan however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Fresco in the 85th minute of play forced Mathew AFC's goalkeeper Filomeno Iyan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Severiano Garaile got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
